Gary Wilton Parr

is a Deputy Chairman of Lazard. He has focused on providing strategic advice to financial institutions worldwide. Prior to joining, he was with Morgan Stanley serving in numerous flagler.unc.edu/news/alumniMag/2005Fall/DefineL.html]. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with honors, Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma, and received his MBA at Northwestern University.

During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, Parr served as the Vice-Chairman of Institutional Securities and Investment Banking, as the Chairman and Head of the Global Financial Institutions Group, as the Co-Head of the Global Mergers and Acquisitions Department, and as the Chairman of the Princes Gate Fund.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Parr was with a group from First Boston that formed Wasserstein Perella, where he rose to be Co-President.
