Gary A. Blair is the current Mayor of Orange City, Florida Earlier Life/Occupation Blair was teaching technology education at Galaxy Middle School for 33 years. Political Career Blair ran for mayor in 2016 after serving as a councilman (1998-2005) and vice mayor (2009-2016) for after the incumbent mayor Tom Laputka announced his resignation from office to run for the Volusia County Chair seat. He had two other opponents who were city councilmen (Tom Abraham & Michael Wright). He was able to win in the general election against Wright. He started a fitness program in the city called Orange City's Mayors Fitness Challenge (10 weeks of fitness activities for the city community). |
