TiltShift
The GALES Schools' first project, the TiltShift Summit, is to take place in June 2011. This is a student summit that brings together 80 bright students and teachers to to exchange ideas, testbed and implement scalable solutions to some of the most pressing issues confronting the world today. TiltShift takes its name after a photography technique called Tilt-shift photography, in which the camera lens is manipulated so that a life-sized location or subject resembles a miniature-scale model. The member schools hope that by miniaturising problems that seem immeasurably large, they can gain fresh insight into it.
