Gabriel Murphy

Gabriel Murphy (born December 23, 1975 in Saint Joseph, Missouri) is an American entrepreneur residing in Leawood, Kansas. He is a 1999 graduate of Cornell University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Murphy is known for his success as a young proprietor of several businesses, including numismatics and web hosting.

Aplus.Net (Abacus America, Inc.)
Murphy is a shareholder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Internet solutions and web hosting company Aplus.Net. He was named CEO of Aplus.Net on July 26, 2006 upon the acquisition of Abacus America, Inc. by Catalyst Investors and himself. In February of 2007, Aplus.Net relocated its corporate headquarters from San Diego, California to Mr. Murphy's hometown of Overland Park, Kansas. In August of 2007, Mr. Murphy and his firm Aplus.Net spearheaded the acquisition of WebImage, a White Plains, New York-based firm specializing in broucure-ware web design services.

Murphy Properties, LLC
In November of 2003, Gabriel Murphy founded Murphy Properties, LLC, a commercial real estate brokerage firm. Today, Murphy Properties owns five office buildings consisting of over 500,000 square feet of multi-tenant office space.

iNET Interactive, LLC
In April of 2002, Gabriel Murphy founded iNET Interactive, LLC, a new media content management agency. iNet later acquired HotScripts.com, WebHostingTalk.com, ISPCheck.com, Yaxay.com, dBforums.com and a number of other web-properties. Mr. Murphy focused on consolidation of "auto-content generation" web-portals focused in three main verticals: web hosting, web development/software and computer hardware. iNET Interactive, LLC was acquired in November of 2005 by Stoddard Hill Media of Dayton, Ohio.

CommuniTech.Net
Previous to these business ventures, Mr. Murphy enjoyed success as the entrepreneur involved in several start-up firms. He was a co-founder of Kansas City-based SME web hosting firm CommuniTech.Net- an Internet venture he started in 1997 with seed capital of $1,800 and grew to more than $8 million in revenues by 2001. On February 8, 2002, CommuniTech.Net was acquired by Interland (now known as Web.com). At the time of its acquisition by Interland CommuniTech.Net was among America's most profitable hosting firms with 16 consecutive quarters of revenue and EBITDA growth. Mr. Murphy has also served as Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions of Interland (now known as Web.com).

Directorships
Mr. Murphy sits on the board of directors and is a shareholder in Denver, Colorado-based Catalyst Repository Systems (formerly CaseSHARE Systems, Inc.). Mr. Murphy invested alongside Catalyst Investors in Catalyst Repository Systems in March of 2005. Gabriel Murphy is also a major owner and director of Kansas City-based CobraGuard, a provider of web-based COBRA compliance and administrative services for small businesses. Gabriel Murphy is also a shareholder and advisor to email service provider FuseMail.com.

Awards
In 2001, CommuniTech.Net was selected by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce as the Small Business of the Year and "Mr. K" award winner. That same year, Mr. Murphy was named one of the "40 Under 40" Business Leaders of Kansas City and Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young-- at 25, one of the youngest-ever recipients of this award.
