Gabriel Lavin (born February 25, 1957), is an Irish Businessman who was appointed at 21 years old to Senior Management of North Connacht Farmers (NCF) which was re-branded to become the dairy and animal nutrition production co-op company known today as Connacht Gold and Connacht Gold Quality Feeds. Biography Lavin was born on February 25, 1957, in Ballymore West, Boyle, County Roscommon to Florence and Michael (Mico) J. Lavin. He grew up outside the small town of Boyle, County Roscommon in Ballymore West with his 5 other siblings, where as a child he helped on his father, Michael J. Lavin's Farm. Education and career In 1977, Lavin completed his study in Agricultural Science & Agribusiness and was pursued by the Co-Op North Connacht Famers (NCF) and started out as a Laboratory analyst in the co-op Mill. Soon he was appointed General Manager of the Plant after proving himself in the laboratory. Not long after this promotion, his work as G.M was recognized by the Senior Management Board of the Co-Op and he was then appointed to the board. After his appointment to the Board of Senior Management, he helped in the re-branding of the co-op to Connacht Gold and Connacht Gold Quality Feeds Ltd. This big step for the co-op led to the launching of new dairy products. Lavin spent the next, nearly 30 years with Connacht Gold, he completed his studies in Agricultural Science and Business Management at the University of Limerick. Upon leaving Connacht Gold Quality Feeds Ltd., Lavin was appointed as Business Development & Sales Director of Keenan System. Lavin helped the company expand by sharing his wisdom and knowledge of his 30 working years. The company launched a new brand known as Keenan's Intouch Agri-tech. Since its launch in 2014, Alltech's Pearse Lyons became interested and after long negotiation, Lavin's and Keenan's Intouch Agri-Tech Product was bought by Alltech in mid 2016. Through the years, Lavin has helped companies like Avonmore and Donegal Creameries to grow and expand by being hired as a Business-to-Business Consultant. Community development Lavin grew up outside the small town of Boyle, County Roscommon and has been involved in many different community development programs over the last few decades. One of which was the formation of "The Round Table" in the early 1980's which Lavin was Chairman of. The table consisted of men aged between 18-40. In this group, they aided the growth of their town of Boyle by organizing events such as music, concerts, and poetry. The aim of the project was to develop the town and increase the levels of tourism. Boyle was soon to be targeted as a town for hosting the National Irish Traditional Music Festival known as the Fleadh.
