Gorog or G-O-R-O-G is an indoor variation of miniature golf typically played in an office environment. The game uses a putter and golf ball and is played by two players. The object of the game is to be the last player to accrue the five letters, G-O-R-O-G. The game was created in 2000 at Napster in California where it was a company-wide pastime. It has since spread to many other companies throughout Silicon Valley. How to play To determine the order in which players go in, each player hits a golf ball at a specified target such as a wall. The order of play is determined by how close each player is to the specified target. In G-O-R-O-G, the first player - the Better - announces a bet consisting of a starting point, the target to be hit, the maximum number of strokes to hit the target and optionally any obstacles that must be hit during the round. The second player either accepts or rejects the bet. If they accept, both players place their balls at the designated starting point and take turns hitting their ball with a golf putter in an attempt to reach the target in the specified number of strokes. Any objects may be used to get the ball to the target as long as the player does not influence the behavior of the objects. A player may not set objects down after a bet has been accepted to bank the ball off of or remove an object from the path of the course unless it has no effect on the game or course. Any part of the golf putter may be used to hit the ball, however the player can not move the ball by any means other than by using their putter. If the Better makes it to the target in the specified number of strokes, but the second player does not, the second player accrues a letter from the word "gorog" starting with "G" and the Better remains as the Better. If the Better does not make it to the target in the specified number of strokes, but the second player does, the Better accrues a letter and the second player becomes the Better. If neither party reaches the target in the specified number of strokes, the second player becomes the Better and no letters are accrued. The first player to spell Gorog loses.
