Fu Gung Gar

Fu Gung Gar was developed and established within Central UK during 2004. It wasn't until 17 March 2010 that it was given its own presidency, due to the student of Kung fu being sacked from Lau Gar, Derby, M.W.Pickering was then given the option to unveil his understanding of the asian arts. His focus was the characters of Tiger, Dragon, snake, Leopard and Crane. The main focus of Fu Gung Gar was Crane for its grace and flexibility, Tiger for its power and aggression and leopard for its physical training and conditioning of the body. The ideology, philosophy and spirit of Fu Gung Gar derives from sources such as Guru Dan Inosanto, R.Dokic, the Five Animals and urban street defence that is present in today's society. The techniques from Fu Gung Gar are certainly street defence based but utilize the aspects of sport derived methods. Application of speed and in fact breaching contact is foremost important and as a result creates a systematic Fighting method. Throughout the year each student preceding the path of Fu Gung Gar should apply the three main characters mentioned, this is the path of Fu Gung Gar, Leopord is the one to be most respected as it is in some people’s opinions, one that divides the weak from the strong.
