Fred G. Barrett (October 2, 1914 - July 3, 1984) was a municipal politician who served as mayor of the city of Gloucester, Ontario from 1982 until his death at the age of 69. He followed his father (also named Frederick) in the agricultural profession and prospered as a dairy farmer. Known for his folksy manner, he served on Gloucester council off and on for twenty years, finally winning the mayor's office. He married Doris E. Kemp (1922-1988). Barrett ran unsuccessfully as a Liberal in the provincial riding of Carleton East. He died from liver cancer at the family farm.<ref name=interim/>
