Franck Hermanny

Franck Daniel Hermanny was born April 19, 1974 in Nimes, France.
He's the bass player in the metal band Adagio since 2001.
Biographie
Franck begins with Classical music studies learning the violin.
His Father offers him his first bass at the age of 17.
First influenced by Heavy metal bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden, Franck discovers jazz-rock et la fusion music with Canadian band Uzeb and bass player Alain Caron.
In 1992, Franck enters a Jazz music school during one year, learning jazz and Latin music basics.
He plays with numerous cover bands and practices bass over and over.
He becomes a professional musician in 1995.
In 1998, after taking upright bass classes (jazz), he joins famous french virtuoso guitar player Cyril Achard , with whom he records several live E.P's (Contre Fusion) and an album (In Inconstantia Constans), with keyboard player Tony MacAlpine) as guest.
The trio performs numerous festivals and music fairs events with bands such as Morglbl Trio Christophe Godin , and shares the stage
with numerous musicians ( Didier Lockwood , Frank Gambale ).
Adagio
Franck meets Stephan Forté in 1999 .
Stéphan offers him to join his forthcoming project, about to become Adagio a year later.
The band's first album Sanctus Ignis is recorded in Karlsdorf (Germany) in the "House Of Audio" Studios, and is produced
by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69).
The album is acclaimed in Japan & France.
The second album, Underworld is a new step in the bands carreer, with a real 40 piece choir, and contemporary music elements added to their music.
This album is followed by the band's first headlining tour in France, recording a first Live album A Band In Upperworld during a show at the
prestigious Élysée Montmartre.
In 2004, Franck joins the "Taboo Voodoo" project , created by guitarist Cyril Achard and famous American drummer Mike Terrana (Rage, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tarja Turunen) for a tour in Germany.
In February 2009, Adagio releases its fifth album, Archangels in Black.
The album is acclaimed by the specialized press, and even a short review in Rolling Stone Magazine.
Franck releases his first double instructional DVD Bass licks in 2009.
As a new endorser for Markbass amplification, he plays at Frankfurt Musik Messe with Alain Caron and Hadrien Feraud.
Franck also writes instructional columns in Guitarist and Bassiste Magazines, talking about the various techniques he's using on Adagio's last release Archangels In Black.
As a big movie music fan, he studies orchestration and writing, doing commercial, theater musics, and participates to short movies music.
In December 2009, Franck performs on stage with Patrick Rondat, ( Jean-Michel Jarre).
Since 2001, Franck a Yamaha artist playing exclusively on those instruments.
But in 2009, he joins the pretigious Ibanez company, playing now SR 500E Prestige OL series, SR 706K, and limited edition SR Ashula, hybrid / fretted/ fretless bass.

En 2009, Franck records the new Cyril Achard album , Violencia.
In March 2010, Adagio joins American band Kamelot, on its European tour.
New releases and re-issues of first Adagio albums are available Sanctus Ignis, Underworld, and the live album A Band In Upperworld as well.
A new Archangels In Black release is done, as a "De Luxe" Edition , with a new surprising bonus :
separate ausio tracks allowing the audience to make its own mix of the songs.
Franck performs at the Paris music fair for Ibanez and Markbass with Alain Caron, Herman Li et Patrick Rondat .
Adagio new album is planned for a late 2011 release.
