Cllr Francis Timmons was elected in the Clondalkin area in the Local Elections in May 2014 as an Independent Counselor. He has worked in Social Care for twenty five years and is also a registered teacher. He is amongst other roles Chairman of Dublin West Brendan Kenna MS Ireland Branch, founder of Clondalkin Helping Homeless, Chairman of St Patrick's day committee. He will be an Independent Candidate in the General Election due in 2016. Since being elected to South Dublin County Council he has had motions on Traveler Ethnicity, Direct Provision, Housing, Disability etc. passed. He has a strong interest in Social Justice Issues. He is on the Community Alliance made up of other Independents and a Green. He is also on the controlling group in South Dublin County Council made up of the community alliance / Sinn Fein and Labour called the Progressive Alliance.
