2014 Revere Massachusetts Tornado

The 2014 Revere Massachusetts Tornado was a very rare tornado that occurred in Chelsea, Massachusetts and tracked into Revere, Massachusetts on July 28, 2014. It was the first tornado in recorded history in Suffolk County, and was the first EF2 tornado Massachusetts has seen since a tornado in Wendell, Massachusetts on June 11, 2006.
Impact
The tornado first touched down in the area of U.S. Route 1 in Chelsea Massachusetts, then the tornado headed North East, rapidly intensifying while entering the Revere area, and dissipated on the Salem Turnpike in Revere. Six minor injuries were reported.
Damage
The vast majority of the damage occurred in Revere, although a roof of a skating rink in Chelsea was damaged. Once the tornado was in Revere, it passed through Revere Beach parkway, damaging many homes and ripping a roof off of a house. Once in the center of Revere, the damage was widespread, and the tornado followed Massachusetts Route 107 for most of the way. The tornado blew out windows and damaged the roof of the town hall and uprooted a tree near the town hall. At the intersection of Revere Street and Carleton Avenue, a car was overturned by the tornado, near the rotary of Massachusetts Route 60, a billboard fell on top of several parked cars. The tornado then ripped through a car workshop, where the roof was blown off, the tornado then dissipated on the Salem Turnpike.
