Four-hundred-year solar minimum of the 21st century
Four-hundred-year solar minimum of the 21st century or Modern Grand Solar Minimum is a period of low solar activity from 2020 to 2053 (from the 25th to the 27th solar cycle).<ref name"vz" /> Like the previous Wolf (1270-1350) and Maunder (1645-1710) minima of the four-hundred-year solar cycle, it is expected to reduce the average global temperature by up to 1.0-1.5 °C.<ref name"vz" /> Unlike the previous minima, the decrease in solar activity in the 21st century is expected to be shorter and will extend not over 70 years, but over approximately half that period of time. The combination of modern global warming and reduced solar activity will lead to reduced heating of the Earth's atmosphere, but according to modern research, it will not be able to completely eliminate an increase in global temperatures on the planet due to anthropogenic effects.<ref name"sksc" /><ref name"mi" />
