Forensic mitigation

Forensic Mitigation is a form of debt relief provided by a licensed attorney. It is similar to debt settlement, debt counseling and other services except that it is provided by a law firm.
The Process
The attorney will contact all creditors on behalf of the debtor and attempt to negotiate a settlement. If successful the debtor will have to pay a reduced amount in monthly installments to the creditors. Part of these monthly payments will be fees that go to the Law firm, which may include a retaining fee and settlement fees.
This process is something that debtors can do themselves, though some prefer not to because of the drawn out process.
