Forbidden Boingo

Forbidden Boingo is a series of unofficial B-Sides and Rarities bootleg albums by the New Wave band Oingo Boingo. Originally compiled and released as 2 Volumes on CD-R in the mid 1990's and distributed and shared amongst fans. It has subsequently mutated, having been edited (with some songs omitted), resequenced and expanded by fans. Its current incarnation features 3 Volumes separated by years, spanning their entire career. Later distribution on P2P networks and BitTorrent websites.
The album's current volumes are separated into the years 1976-1980, 1980-1985 and 1985-1996. It features a slew of B-Sides, Rarities and Live Recordings that were never included on major releases or singles. The collection currently spans 52 songs and 19 years of their career, starting from the years as a theater troupe known as the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo and going into their more well known time as a New-Wave rock band.
Notably, these volumes barely scratch the surface of bootleg Boingo material, as dozens of live shows have been recorded by fans, and multiple studio demos, unreleased songs, alternate song takes, and concert rehearsals are known to exist. The original releases contained songs that were later omitted by fans for unknown reasons. Some were movie soundtrack songs Oingo Boingo contributed to such as "Bachelor Party". Others like "Take Your Medicine" from the charity album of the same name were exclusive to that release and long out of print. Fans also released a 2 disc compilation called Reptiles and Remixes in the mid 1990's. It compiled all known extended remixes comprised mostly of 12" promotional records.
