Flackle is a video sharing, photo sharing, file sharing, and social networking service focused on taking pictures and videos to share with other users on the Flackle platform. This media can then be shared publicly to the world or privately to close friends. After an alpha and beta trial, Flackle released in September of 2016. Flackle is a free mobile app available on Android, iOS, and Windows. Also running on Desktop PC's with a messaging application on Windows OS. Flackle started lifting off mainly in October with over 13,000 traffic in visits and downloads. History August 2016 In August of 2016 Flackle started it's early development. Originally Flackle was not going to be a mobile application, just a website for messaging but started to grow out of that with making a mobile app and more features on the site. Originally only a select few of individuals were allowed on the site, which were mainly executives and employees at Flackle. The Vision Flackle has a vision of powering todays connectivity and social networking uses in a secured, reliable, and consistent way. Flackle has made a promise to be one of the most secured social networking platforms out there today, the developers themselves come from White Hat Hacking and security engineering. It's safe to say that Flackle was built on security layers and will continue that promise for centuries. Merchandise Line Flackle is known to be one of the first social networking platforms to introduce a clothing line. Originally made in November, Flackle sweatshirts, earbuds, speakers, t-shirts, and more accessories have been created for promotional purposes and were given out for free to early supporters of the platform. There are plans in motion to set up and online store on the Flackle website. Features Messaging One of the mainly used features on Flackle is live-messaging. As of December 2016 over 200 messages are sent on Flackle each day. Messaging supports emoji's, file sharing, and image sharing. There is a dedicated page and software application to messaging as well as a chat window on all pages of Flackle. With messaging comes privacy and there are many options to choose from to remain anonymous. Photo Sharing Users have the ability to share photos which can be any size, many file types, and are customizable. Photos can be shared privately, with friends, or globally. New tagging features for photos are currently under development. Files / Audio Users can upload many file types and audio files, this also includes mp4 and mov videos. Videos are uploaded to the original resolution and FPS, but can depend on your connection to the app and site. Friends Flackle allows users to register to the platform using third-party social networking sites. Security Foundation Flackle is founded on security and built on it. Penetration tests are conducted every Tuesday to ensure the highest level of security. In the event of a security breach, the site is automatically shut down to prevent further damage. XSS / SQL Flackle has been built to prevent and not allow any SQL injections or Cross-site scripting. Back in early stage development in August 2016 before Flackle was released, a vulnerability was found with the "Search Bar" and was fixed without any troubles. No one was affected as Flackle was not released. The Future Mobile App Flackle is working on redoing the mobile application after receiving many ideas, complaints, suggestions, and opinions. The developers of Flackle are highly dedicated to engaging with the community and have started to completely redo the whole app. The site will not be changed but more features will be added with upcoming updates. Developers stated that this new app will be released early 2017 which will be launching Flackle out of BETA early-development. Updates Flackle plans on releasing updates monthly which contain bug fixes, new features, and user suggestions. They have released multiple updates in one month before and have plans on many new features coming soon. Flackle is currently a non-profit but does have plans on user 'memberships' which would contain more features. Controversy Users on the platform have claimed and stated that Flackle is too similar to Instagram, Snapchat, or other social networking services. Developers have commented on the site before about this and have claimed that they are working away from being 'similar' or 'alike' those platforms in the same industry.
