Fisheries Supply Company is a Seattle-based business that sells marine hardware to both retail and wholesale customers. Established in 1928 on Pier 55, Fisheries Supply sold nets, marking devices, heavy fishing gear and hardware to canneries and fishing boats. In 1978, Fisheries Supply moved from Pier 55 to the north end of Lake Union at Mariner’s Square. Moving away from heavy fishing gear, Fisheries Supply has settled into the market of boat parts, sailing gear, and boat supplies for both commercial and recreational boaters.
Though largely a wholesale business, catering to boat builders, boat yards, and marine accessory dealers, Fisheries Supply maintains a retail customer base, a retail store, and an online store. Twice a year, Fisheries Supply hosts 48° North Swap Meets in the Fall and the Spring; boaters arrive as early as 3 am to lay out the entire contents of their garage and to browse and trade other boaters' goods.
