Origin
The origin of fish bread was in the mid 1800s which was made because the price of fish was expensive therefore people made fish go further such as the bread or into soups or broths.
How to Make
Fish bread is a simple recipe with little ingredients.
Step 1. Pour 4 cups of flour, 1 cup of self-raising flour and 3 egg yolks into a bowl and mix.
Step 2. Add half a cup of a fish (possibly tuna, salmon etc. depending on availability), and mix with other ingredients.
Step 3. Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of yeast, one full egg and 4 drops of vanilla essence to the mixture, and mix until a thick dough is formed.
Step 4. Knead dough into a ball and put into a bread tin (or on a dish) and put into oven at 230 degrees for 5 hours or until golden.
Step 5. take out oven and let the bread rest for 3 hours. Serve with lemon and butter and enjoy.
Variations
You can add more cinnamon if you want to.
