The company Fing Limited provides Fing, a mobile app that serves as a network scanner for Wi-Fi networks. Fing is used to discover the wireless devices connected to a Wi-Fi home network, such as smartphone, tablet computer, residential gateway, personal computer, video game console, smart appliances, and other Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Fing maps the locations of these devices on the network, detects unknown devices that may represent security risks, and provides the means to troubleshoot performance problems and other issues. History and Management The Fing app was created by founders Marco de Angelis, Carlo Medas, and Daniele Galdi and first introduced in 2009. In April 2016, Domenico Crapanzano joined the organization and currently serves as the CEO of Fing Limited. Marco de Angelis currently serves as Fing’s Mobile and Web App R&D Architect. Carlo Medas serves as Big Data Architect. Fingbox Fingbox is a physical sensor designed to be used in conjunction with the Fing mobile application. It was introduced on November 16, 2016 via an Indiegogo campaign. The Fingbox sensor connects to a home router via an ethernet cable. Once attached, Fingbox can be controlled by the Fing mobile application. Functionality and Technical Requirements Fing works with and iOS and is free to download and use. The Fingbox appliance leverages Ubuntu Core as its primary operating system.
