Fighter X

Fighter X is an Everett, Washington based electronic musician who creates music inspired by the low-bit sounds of video game systems from the mid through the early . He is also influenced by artists such as Venetian Snares.


Originally formed in 2005 as a duo including Mac Dobbins, Fighter X soon became the solo alias of Nickolas A. Walthew, then 18.
Until late 2007, Fighter X had been creating and performing music with his groovebox, a Korg Electribe MX-1, but in December of that year, he was given a Nintendo Game Boy by a fan of his. Soon after, he was offered an LSDJ cartridge by McFiredrill, a labelmate of his on CrunchyCo, and began producing chiptunes as his main form of music. He has stated that he is slowly returning to work with his groovebox.


Fighter X has performed shows throughout the Pacific Northwest, and has garnered attention for his recent street shows, including one on the steps of the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo in downtown Seattle, Washington.
