Ferdinand Adimefe

Ferdinand Adimefe (born 16 May 1984) is a Nigerian author, media personality and entrepreneur. A former host of the popular TV show, Rubbin' Minds on Channels TV and resident guest on Smooth 96.1 FM's Freshly Pressed, he is the founder of Imaginarium Creative Global, a creative design and experience studio, at the intersection of media, technology and entertainment.
Early Background & Education
Adimefe grew up in Port Harcourt as the third of seven children. He holds a bachelor's degree in Human Anatomy from the University of Port Harcourt as well as a master's degree from the School of Media and Communication, Pan African University, Lagos.
Career
Branding & Communications
In 2008, Adimefe began his career in branding at Adstrat and worked closely with Charles O’Tudor, one of the pioneers of branding and communication in Nigeria. He then went on to work as a brand and communications manager at Century Energy and Services Limited from 2011 to 2014. In addition to his core functions, he also worked on strategy, business development, research and corporate social responsibility. He went into full-time entrepreneurship in 2014, starting Imaginarium Creative Global, which is currently working on an animation of Cyprian Ekwensi's classic, The Passport of Mallam Ilia.
Writing
Adimefe is a published author who has also written on a variety of topics including lifestyle, technology and politics on both traditional and social media. He has published articles on BusinessDay, BellaNaija, YNaija and other outlets. His first book, XYZ which was about campus living and values among youths was published while he was an undergraduate. His second book titled Pulse, a creative non-fiction collection of short epistles, chronicling Nigeria’s socio-economic realties and societal values was published in 2013 (or c. 2011).
Other Roles
He is a member of the Information Communications Committee of the Nigeria Economic Forum, tasked with research and proposing policy formulation for driving Nigeria’s technological advancement. He was also one of the recipients of The Future Awards: Nigeria’s best 100, and was inducted as a Guardian of The Future by the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigerian (2010-2015). In 2010, the Ford Foundation inducted him as a member of the fifty young Nigerians selected by the Foundation to create a blueprint for Nigeria’s future.
Civic Responsibilities
Adimefe serves on the board of the Slum to School Africa initiative, a non-profit organisation aimed at improving access to education for children who live in hard-to-reach slums across Nigeria. He is a founding partner of Interface, an online-offline forum giving young people opportunities to interface with industry mentors in their areas of interest and contribute to economic growth. Mentors include: Bode Pedro, Onyeka Nwelue etc.
Sozo Life Foundation
He is a pastor at The Tribe Lagos, the gospel expression which powers Sozo Life Foundation, a charity initiative focused on programs and projects that enhance the quality of life of underprivileged children in Nigeria. In 2017, the charity organised a Christmas Charity concert and Harmattan, a Christmas music album. The Harmattan album was a fund raising initiative for the "A Thousand Smiles Campaign” which procured One Thousand (1,000) special Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the Lagos metropolis. The Sozo Life Foundation has been involved in providing relief materials for Internally Displaced Persons and Benue flood victims. They have adopted the Itedo community by periodically providing them with food, clothing and healthcare services.
Personal life
He lives in Lagos with his wife and two children.
