Feedzilla

Feedzilla is a Luxembourg based company which aggregates, categorizes news stories by topic, and provides updating news widgets. Feezilla collects web based news summaries found in RSS feeds, categorizes them and redistributes them in either RSS format or as news widgets.
Feedzilla also allows webmasters and bloggers to add constantly updating news to their website and/or blog. The Feedzilla platform supports the creation of customizable widgets via a web-based interface. It allows building widgets in various formats: Macromedia Flash, HTML, Javascript, ASP, PHP. The platform also allows adding news widgets to different blogging platforms and social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, Typepad and a few other popular platforms.
Feedzilla target users are in the long tail section of the market, that is, small website owners and bloggers.
History
2004
In 2004, Dr. Bussard Nicolas developed a simple website where users could read news from various media sites, all on the same website. It was then called Stepnewz.com. Dr. Bussard's motivation roots in his experiences as a child in Cameroon. During the dictatorship in the eighties censorship was strong and objective news were rare. Ever since Dr. Bussard has felt the importance of easy access to news.
2005
A business angel joined the team and allowed stepnewz.com to become a company. Coldbrook Business Corp. was founded and Stepnewz.com became Stepwebz.com.
2006
The owners of Stepwebz.com decided to provide webmasters and bloggers a way to add constantly updated content to their websites and blogs for a small monthly fee. The name of the website became Feedzilla.com.
