Fatima of Madrid (10th century) is the name given to an Andalusian astronomer. She was the daughter of renowned astronomer Maslama al-Majriti, with whom she worked closely. She wrote numerous treatises on astronomy, known as the Corrections of Fatima. Her work, entitled Astrolabe Treaty on the use of this instrument is preserved in the Library of the Monastery of the Escorial. The Arabist Manuela Marín, a specialist in history and biography of Al-Andalus, said of Fatima: "she is, therefore, the most illustrious of the Andalusian women, including in the 'Calendar Astronomers who made history.
