Mary C. Otero Rolle (born Maria del Carmen Otero Rolle in Madrid on the 5th of April 1965) is a Spanish poet and singer. Biography With Galician roots from her father, and roots from Madrid on her mother's side, Mary was born in Madrid, but her family left for Viveiro when she was two years old ,were she grew up and her interests in Music and Poetry started. She studied Teaching in the University of Lugo. After living in Santiago de Compostela, she moved to Southampton, England in 2002 and to Bristol in 2006, where she lives now. She still maintains contacts in Spain, however, and visits often. Personal Life She married Dr. Santiago Rodriguez Lopez (Son of Manuel Rodriguez Lopez) in 1997, and had a child in 1999. Work The majority of her work was produced during her adoloscence and in the 90's. Most of her poems from this period have been collected and made into a book entitled "Luces en La Arena" (Lights in the Sand). The theme of these poems varies,but they are mainly about love. She also wrote many unpublished works, and in addition to this, she has transcribed various poems by Galician poets like Rosalia de Castro, Manuel Rodriguez Lopez, Celso Emilio Ferreiro and Dario Xohan Cabana to music.
