Farrans Construction is a building and civil engineering contractor based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is an operating division within Northstone NI Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of CRH Plc. Headquartered in Ireland and with a turnover of over €18Bn, CRH Plc operates in 35 countries and employs 75,000 people.

Operating from Headquarters in Belfast as well as regional offices in Edinburgh, Cambridge and Dublin, Farrans is structured into two divisions these being Building and Civil Engineering. In addition there are also specialised subdivisions that carry out work specifically within the homes, healthcare and utilities markets.
History
Since its formation in 1941, Farrans Limited has progressed from a small office in Dunmurry, Belfast from where the early activities were defence works for the war effort with contracts for the various Service Departments to a major building and civil engineering contractor with offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Mann.
In 1977 the Company was purchased by T.B.F. Thompson (Garvagh) Limited which was also engaged in supplying to the Construction Industry. Two years later this enlarged group was acquired by Cement Roadstone Holdings plc and still remains as a wholly owned subsidiary of CRH plc.
