Fahri Yaras

Fahri Yaras (born November 14, 1982) is a Turkish scientist and engineer. He is the Director of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer at Light Field Corporation.
Background
Fahri Yaras was born in Amasya, Turkey and received his bachelor's degree at Bilkent University, Ankara in 2005. He earned his PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University in 2011. His thesis work was on Three-Dimensional Holographic Video Display Systems Using Multiple Spatial Light Modulators.
From 2005 to 2008 he was a research assistant in a European Commission (EC) funded FP6 project, called 3DTV Project. From 2008 to 2011 he was a research assistant in another EC funded FP7 project, called Real 3D Project (The Real 3D - Digital holography for 3D and 4D real-world objects' capture, processing, and display project).
Yaras is a member of IEEE and OSA. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for several scientific journals including Optics Express , Optics Letters , Applied Optics and Journal of Display Technology. He also translated Edward Bellamy's Looking Backward to Turkish .
Research
His research interests include 3D displays, 3D Imaging, optics, optical signal processing, digital signal processing, digital holography and spatial light modulators
