Ezequiel Trumper

Ezequiel Trumper is a lawyer and journalist living in Sydney, Australia. After achieving partnership in a couple of national law firms, he now practices corporate law in his own firm solely for selected corporate clients. He is also well known in the Spanish community of Sydney through his media role as national news editor of Radio Austral.
Trumper is also a professional company director. He was chairman of the Latin American New Zealand Business Council, chairman of the Airways superannuation fund, a director of Wellington Soccer Federation, Australian Latin American Business Council, and Football Media Australia Ltd.
Biography
Early life and education
Ezequiel Trumper was born in Argentina and is a graduate of Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. He qualified as a lawyer at the University of Buenos Aires and as a journalist at the Circulo Periodistas Deportivos. He practised law in Argentina for just 2 years. He left his native country in the late eighties to complete a Masters of Laws at New York University School of Law, which he finished in 1988.
Career
Upon graduation, he did not resettle in Argentina. Instead he migrated to New Zealand where he was readmitted as a solicitor and had a distinguished career as a corporate lawyer. He started as a senior associate of DLA Phillips Fox, was seconded to the Securities Commission of New Zealand and after a few years, he took up a senior legal role at National Mutual (now AXA), then New Zealand's second largest fund manager. Following two years at National Mutual, he took up a senior executive role at Airways Corporation of New Zealand where he remained for 5 years before migrating to Australia with his family in 2000.
His career in Australia attracted media interest. In 2006 he was invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) to comment on social events. In 2007, The Australian newspaper published a profile of his career.

Highlights in his professional career include his role as general counsel & company secretary of Airways New Zealand (ACNZ) (www.airways.co.nz), partner of Turner Freeman Lawyers, partner of Gray Perkins Lawyers, senior counsel at National Mutual Funds Management, compliance counsel at the New Zealand Securities Commission, special counsel at PWC Legal (Australia), senior associate at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and DLA Phillips Fox amongst other senior positions.
As a journalist he has published extensively on prestigious online magazine New Matilda (http://newmatilda.com/search/node/trumper), has appeared as foreign correspondent of Argentine TV Network TELEFE, and is a radio correspondent to many radio stations in South America.
