Dave Hedgepeth (August 23, 1968) is an attorney who currently works in the Litigation Support Services division of CACI. He is a member of the District of Columbia bar. He is the Republican candidate running for the Ward 3 seat of the Council of the District of Columbia Background Dave was raised in Co-op City, Bronx, a middle income community of 50,000 residents, and the largest single residential development in the United States. Dave is a graduate of its Public Schools: P.S. 160, I.S. 180 and Harry S. Truman H.S. Dave is the first member of his family to graduate from college and go on to receive a graduate degree. Education Dave received his BA in History from Colgate University where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and received his JD from the Catholic University of America (CUA), Columbus School of Law. At Catholic, Dave pursued his interests in labor law and education issues as a law clerk for the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). Dave was also proud to help DC special education students as a student lawyer at CUA’s Families and the Law Clinic, where he helped kids receive the free appropriate public education (FAPE) they were entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act (IDEA). Work Since graduation, Dave has become a Litigation Support Specialist managing paralegal, administrative and technical teams on cases such as discrimination against African American and Latino farmers, and protecting third party payers such as CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield from unfair business practices by Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). Family Dave resides in the North Cleveland Park/Forest Hills area with his wife, Justine Kenin, a producer at National Public Radio (NPR), and their twin daughters, Annie and Veda, who attend Murch Elementary School.
