Reception
The album reached as high as #20 on the iTunes pop chart, and #70 on the iTunes overall music chart,<ref name="Romania200907"/><ref name="YouTubeFriday20091218"/> at a time when Lavie had no backing or promotion by a record label but about 20,000 YouTube subscribers.<ref name="YTchannel20080516"/> Two summers after the May 2008 release of Everything or Nothing, subscribers to Lavie's YouTube channel exceeded 183,000<ref name="LL1-20100805"/> (August 2010).
Concerning the album's genres, Lavie explained "I've not created one particular style. ... It's kind of like seasons."<ref name="Starscoop 2008"/> Allmusic's Matt Chisling wrote that "Lavie synthesizes elements of pop, dance-rock, and jazz," noting this "abundance of diversity" made the collection feel "erratic, jarring, and difficult to relate to in its entirety," concluding that "she's difficult to fit into any one genre, which leaves her out in the dust for certain forms of mainstream success."<ref name="allmusic200805"/> "Casual listeners will find it hard to compare Lavie with any other artist. This isn't necessarily a bad thing;"<ref name="allmusic200805"/>"this seemingly odd combination (of genres) actually works for Lavie."<ref name="allmusic200805"/> Describing the album's diversity of genres four months later, Lavie explained that "I have a jazz track, a lot of ballads, and some nitty-gritty up-tempo songs," adding that "the listener gets to pick and choose, which is great in regards to iTunes."<ref name="Starscoop 2008"/>
The Allmusic reviewer wrote that Lavie's voice is "quite mature, ... well adapted to the many pop-influenced styles."<ref name="allmusic200805"/> The reviewer added that Lavie "nails each style with ease, and displays mastery over many different flavored tracks, solidifying her as a true singer."<ref name="allmusic200805"/>
