European Cities Marketing

European Cities Marketing (ECM) is an association of tourism offices and convention experts of European cities. It has been founded in 1991 in Heidelberg, Germany, on initiative of French and German city tourism managers under the name FOTVE - Fédération des Offices de Tourisme des Villes Européennes / FECTO - Federation of European Cities' Tourist Offices. Later using the brand European Cities Tourism (ECT), the association in 2006 / 2007 merged with the European Federation of Conference Towns (EFCT), since then working as European Cities Marketing. Today it is a network of 120 cities in all parts of Europe, using the services of two forums: the tourism forum dealing with city tourism in general, and the convention forum for congresses and the meetings industry. Each forum is headed by an ECM vice president.
ECM is cooperating with the European Travel Commission, uniting national destination marketing organisations of the countries of Europe, and with TourMIS (Touristic Marketing Information Service), a web-based city tourism statistics toool. ECMs working language is English. The ECM office is located in Dijon, France, since the foundation of the association. Actual president since 2013 is Ignacio de Délas, tourism director of the city of Barcelona.
ECM is helping cities to broaden their international tourism marketing contacts. An example for this work is the "Win with the Lion“ project run in Lviv, Ukraine.
