Eternal Wars is a Text-based game and Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) with about 50,700 players, managed by Eternal Wars Entertainment.
Overview of Gameplay
Eternal Wars is run inside a browser, based on Java console. The game combines chat-based interface with role-playing and strategy elements. As a player, you may gain a maximum of 1 million levels, explore a large map with approximately 1 million locations in 6 different sections, receive close to 20 kinds of drops (980 rings and over 50 amulets) and train to wear many weapons, shields, armor and the newer Beast and God items.
The primary activity in the game is to attack monsters from a list of 202 types. Each monster gets progessively harder. To advance on the list and gain more experience and gold per kill, you will need to equip armor and weaponry as not to get slaughtered by a tougher creature. To equip more powerful weapons/armor, you must train in the Military Academy to use them.
While you are attacking, random drops will appear on your screen. Rings, gold bags, Magic Essence sources, and skills are common. There are rarer drops too like "Will of God" that adds 1 point to all your skills or Pandora boxes which you can get you random item ranging from Levels to Rings and Amulets to Cash Credits. You can also spawn a random beast while clicking. Players put items up on the market at discounted price compared to the trader.

Skills Skills are one of the most important things to your character. They can be boosted by attacking monsters, by equipping rings/amulets, defeating the beast for that skill, or by spending Cash Credits to buy skills. Beast skill is the only skill you cannot boost while attacking normal monsters and you can only boost it while fighting beasts

*Focus- Focus is the primary damage skill used by anyone who uses Spells.

Races When you first register for the game, you must choose which race you wish to become. You may choose from Human, Wood Elf, Orc, Undead, Dwarf, Gnome, Shadow, Fairy, or Lizardman. Each race has different stats, so if you wish to focus on ranged attacks, you would choose a race with a higher Dexterity maximum.
After selecting your race, you can upgrade your race in game. By doing this, you will gain a new race title, higher stat limits, higher gold/experience boost limits, and some skills as a bonus. Doing this costs large amounts of gold and Magic Essence.
Classes When you first register for the game, you must also choose what class you wish to be. You may choose from Fighter (close combat weapons), Ranger (ranged weapons), Mage (spells), and Defender (using shields).
There are in total 8 levels of the class you choose and you begin as level 1 of that class. To raise your class level, you must train in the Military Academy which costs gold and Magic Essence. When training level 1, you have a 90% chance to succeed when you train. Level 2 has 80% chance, Level 3 has 70% chance, and so on, till level 8 training, you only have a 30% chance of succeeding. (To further understand how training works, please read the Military Academy section).
When you are class level 1-4, you can only equip one weapon and one shield. When you finish level 5 of your class, you can use two weapons at a time. However, the second weapon will only do 40% of its normal damage. Once you finish lvl 6 training, the second weapon will do 70% of its normal damage. When you finish level 7 training, both weapons will be at 100% of the normal damage. When you finish level 8 training, both weapons will do 125% of the normal damage.
At level 5, you may also choose to wield two types of weapons, such as a close combat weapon and a spell (multi-class). This then will use two of the attack stats instead of one. Your training will then raise the limit of the type of weapons you wish to use. Your class type will then be a Fighter-Mage or whichever you choose.
Military Academy Military Academy is listed under the actions menu. When you select to go there, your screen now displays four fields. The top field displays your current class, class level, class type and your level, gold, and Magic Essence.
The next field has the school you are in (fighter, ranger, mage, or defender). If you wish to change school and use a different type of weapon, it costs you 50,000 gold and sets you to level one of that school erasing any training you have done in other schools. Also displayed in this field is the class you are currently training for. After you finish training for a level, you can select finish training which will change your class level to the one you just completed and show you the next level to train for and the amount of gold it will cost to start the next level of training.
The next field down is where you train each level of equipment. Even if you do not use the weapon, you must train it up to the appropriate number to finish the level. Once all the equipment for that level is training to the max, you may select finish training and gain your new class level. The skill level you are on, the limit for the class, the amount of gold and Magic Essence, and the chance of success are listed there for you to see. The train button is there for you to attempt to raise that equipment skill.
The third field down is for the Military Defense School. Here you can raise your defenses in dueling. There is always 100% chance of success in this training. It also costs gold and Magic Essence.
The fourth and final field in the Military Academy is the Military Rank Center. Here you may raise your military rank. Raising this rank will increase the numbers of soldiers you can command when settlements arrive into the game. The requirements listed for each rank are on the help page and consist of gold, Magic Essence, levels, recruits, and completed quests.
Monsters and Beasts
The monster list is located in the main page right above the chat bar. It is from here you may attack the 202 normal monsters at any time. Fighting monsters in relatively simple. When you click attack, all of your skills come into play. Your Chance to Hit skill determines how often you hit the monster. Your damage skill (attack power, dexterity, focus, or defense stance) will affect how much damage you do. Your dodge skill will let you evade the monsters attack and your hit points will let you last longer. One important skill, Critical Hit, will let you have a chance to do an especially powerful blow to the monster.Your weapons will increase your damage and your armor lessons the attack of the monster.
At the top of the monster bar, is where beasts can be found. Beasts are special monsters that only spawn at random times. They have an extremely high amount of health. Therefore, all players must fight together to defeat these creatures. There are two types of beasts and 15 different beings. Minor types of beasts have lower health and can only be attacked by players under level 5000. Elder beasts have high health and can be attacked by everyone. To kill a beast you must be the one to deliver the killing blow. If you do this, you will gain the reward given by that particlular beast. The normal rewards are either gold, Magic Essence, skills, or Cash Credits. Elder beasts have a small chance to give a very special reward possibly being a Specialty, rare ring, an amulet, or Beast item.
Fighting beasts is not the same or easy as fighting normal monsters. Beasts have an incredibly high attack power, so you will only last one round with them. Thankfully, you do not lose any gold or experience from the loss. They also have special abilities to make you think before attacking. Some beasts will unequip your weapons and armor, while others steal your gold. The Industructible Being of Life will make your attack become just 1!
Another factor in fighting beasts is your Beast Skill. This functions as your Chance to Hit for beasts. So unless you have a very high beast skill, you won't hit a beast every time you attack. While attacking a beast, you have a chance to gain beast skill, so even if you cannot kill the beast you have a chance to increase your beast skill.
