Eric Mika

Eric Mika, born on August 22, 1985. He is an artist known for his technological and conceptual work which looks at the behavior, possibilities and limitations of hardware and software, and investigates each technology as a medium.
His article on hacking toy EEGs for an expanded range of uses has been popularly referenced in literature on DIY brain wave projects.
The überbeamer, Mika's 2011 graduate thesis at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program, was a Kinect-based handheld surface writer. A spatially-aware surface reconstructor, it was developed independently of and around the same time as Microsoft Research's KinectFusion.
