Eric Henri André Arnoux (born May 19, 1966 in Grenoble, France) is a French real estate professional living in London. He is currently being investigated for fraud and other alleged crimes. Biography Trained as a carpenter and study engineering, Eric Arnoux built luxury residences in the village of Megève, France. He developed his real estate business in France, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He claims to have generated an estate of about 3 billion euros throughout his career, making him one of the largest real estate promoters in Europe. According to media reports, "in 2012, his company Planet, based in Geneva launched an investment fund known as Pure Concept Investment Fund, active in very high level real estate. It intended to rise 70 million euros and offered returns of 10 to 15%... Planet, like Pure Concept Investment Fund are today in liquidation". Controversies In March 2017, Swiss police arrested Arnoux upon his arrival at Geneva Airport for risk of flight. A criminal trial was opened against him for "fraud, forgery, disloyal management, effective assets diminution at the expense of creditors, wrongful management, fraudulent bankruptcy, breach of the obligation to hold an accountancy and serious breach of the law on withholding taxes". In 20 years, Arnoux reportedly accumulated a debt of about 200 to 300 million euros. According to the Tribune de Genève, "The idea was to lure wealthy people with over-valued and over-indebted goods, which he could not sell anymore, by making them appear juicy." Amongst its victims, Le Temps mentions J. Safra Sarasin (15 million Swiss francs), CIC (a little less than 17 million), BGL BNP Paribas in Luxembourg (7 million) or BNP Paribas Switzerland (over 17 million unpaid). Arnoux and his company M/Y Pure appear in a legal case vs. BGL BNP Paribas SA, in the United States District Court Southern District of Florida. On 11 April 2018, Catherine Fortier became the first victim of Arnoux to publicly speak about her suffering on French national TV France 2. She explained how Arnoux failed to pay her back 150,000 euros to her. She explained how Arnoux failed to pay her back 150,000 euros which bankrupted her company Zebranos SARL.
