EoCMS

eoCMS (tagline: "Show the World.") is a Content Managment System being developed by E.G Interactive. It uses PHP and MySQL technology to deliver content to users on a world wide basis. Work started on the project in October 2007, when Vice President James Mortemore suggested that he compact E.G Interactive's existing web site into a simpler PHP script with greater ease of use. Since then, the project has taken many twists and turns and has turned from being a private project into a freeware web program which can be freely edited under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 3.

Features
The current - unreleased - version of eoCMS features numerous functions not dissimilar with other CMS's on the market. Some such features are:
*Theme System
**Allows for modding of existing themes as well as new ones.
*Private Messaging System
*Online forum where members can discuss site content
*News System
*Full admin panel allowing for
**In-site editing of pages and page content
**Member Management
**News Management
**Changing/Editing of Panels
**Banning IP Addresses and IP Address Ranges

eoCMS allows users to upload content to their servers and have it displayed in the CMS. Plans are in place for a WYSIWYG editor to allow users to display media content through their site in html format.

Release
eoCMS V0.7.0 has a release date set for 15th October 2008. This is a BETA release and will be used primarily to test for bugs before the release of V1.0.0 (or any releases hitherto)

MySQL Architecture
eoCMS is averagely resource heavy, though, despite being fast on the load, a considerable amount of queries load on mainly the forum boards. This is something E.G. Interative is attempting to eliminate, however, the first beta release will include this. It has been noted that eoCMS creates a large amount of forum queries, this is due to a previous code used in an older test version of eoCMS. The load placed on the server by eoCMS's forum system can range from light to extremely heavy, depending on the amount of content in the forum.
