Emily Schillinger ( Lawrimore; born March 25, 1980) is an American public relations executive and former White House official. During her tenure in the White House, she was a spokeswoman for the administration of George W. Bush. She is currently vice-president of public affairs of the American Investment Council. Career After serving as communications director for South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson, Schillinger worked in the George W. Bush administration as aide to White House Press Secretary Dana Perino and as press secretary for the Department of Commerce. She then worked as communications director of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and for committee chairman John Barrasso. In 2015, she replaced Michael Steel as press secretary for Speaker of the House John Boehner. Afterwards she was communications director of the House Committee on Ways and Means. In 2018, Schillinger became vice-president of public affairs of the American Investment Council, which lobbies for the private equity industry. Personal life Schillinger was born on March 25, 1980. She is a native of Columbus, Georgia and a graduate of Clemson University.
