Emi Gal (born February 6, 1986 in Bucharest, Romania) is one of Romania's leading young entrepreneurs. He was known for starting his own business at the age of 10, creating business cards on his sister's printer. He started his first company at the age of 17, a web development company which became hugely profitable and allowed him to experiment with different other internet startups. Emi attended The Spiru Haret University, Bucharest. The media darling businessman is a regular speaker on business & entrepreneurship events, encouraging young people to start up businesses. Business exploits Brainient, Gal's first company had clients on all continents, and when only 21 he already had 10 employees and tens of internet products launched. In early 2007 Emi started BrainTV.ro, the first online TV channel in Romania, only to discover nine months later that he had no business model and was forced to close doors after spending €100.000 on the startup. He went on to found the first vertical search engine in Romania, vertimo.ro, which got funded by one of Romania's most influential entrepreneurs, Calin Fusu, with a rumored €50.000. In late 2007, together with the very known Romanian pop artist Florin Grozea, Gal founded eOk.ro, the first free and legal music streaming service in Eastern Europe. The startup became hugely popular and won numerous prizes in the industry. In late 2008, Gal founded Veevid Veevid.org, an open-source video management platform. The company completed seed financing in March 2009, raising money from Romania's most important seed company, SeedMoney Seedmoney.ro.
