Ellen Rose Levy

Ellen Rose Levy (born September 28, 1957) is an American retailer regarded as the first woman to bowl on the University of Georgia men's bowling team.
Early life and education
Levy was born in Meridian, Mississippi as the fourth of five daughters. Her father was Kurt Rose, a German immigrant who owned Rose Vending Company in Meridian. He also managed Magnolia Theatre in downtown Meridian. Her mother was Dorothy Joseph Rose from Birmingham, Alabama. Levy was a member of the marching band and a star bowler and graduated from . She attended the University of Georgia to bowl.
Career
After her retirement from collegiate bowling as a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athlete in the Southeastern Conference in 1977, she relocated to meet her father in Nashville, Tennessee. Shortly thereafter she married husband and 5th generation owner of an upscale men's and women's clothing store in Nashville, Levy's Clothier for Men and Women, which is regarded as the oldest clothing store in America still owned by descendants of the founder. Levy's was founded in 1855 by Zadoc Levy, an immigrant from Germany.
Levy successfully worked retail following her retirement from bowling and acts as the current sportswear and furnishings as well as women's buyer for Levy's. and the The Tennessean.

Levy received various bowling accolades and awards throughout her bowling career.
Personal life
Levy is married to David Levy, who is the owner and president of Levy's Clothier for Men and Women in Nashville, TN. They have two children, Joseph and Marci Levy.
