Elias John is an Indian journalist and social activist from Kerala .He has hosted Malayalam TV shows such as Kannadi on Asianet, Jalakam on Doordarshan, Aniyara on Surya TV, and Saakshi on Kairali TV . He is associated with the Vizhinjam International Seaport Thiruvananthapuram project and serves as the president of the Vizhinjam Motherport Action Council (V-MAC),which advocates for the development of the port. Early life and education Elias John was born in Valiathope, near the domestic airport in Trivandrum, Kerala, to John Fernandez and Treasa John. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Kerala and a Diploma in Journalism from the Press Club, Trivandrum.He has completed a short-term course at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and a diploma course in Parliamentary Practice and Procedures from the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training, Government of Kerala.He is currently the Chief Editor of NTV . Social engagement Elias John has been associated with the Vizhinjam International Seaport project for over three decades as part of his role with the Vizhinjam Motherport Action Council (V-MAC). The council has organized public campaigns and submitted representations in support of the port, including before the National Committee for Environment. He is also involved with the Ockhi Rehabilitation Mission Agency (ORMA) as a mission coordinator, focusing on the rehabilitation of people affected by the 2017 Ockhi cyclone.
