Strong winds began to blow along with the glow, and floodwaters swept the scorpions out of their habitats and into remote areas. The scorpions began to appear rapidly, killing three people and injuring more than 500. The incidents were at their peak on Friday and Saturday when large numbers of people were rushed to hospitals. According to Egyptian media, large doses of antimony have been delivered to medical centers in villages, desert towns and other cities. Doctors have been called on duty. The health department has told people not to go near the desert, vegetables and trees and to be confined to their homes.
