EGM-14B Saturn (commonly reffered to as the Saturn I) was a successful rocket ship launched on November 8, 2008 just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. It was built and constructed previously and launched that day sponsored by the US Army. This was the first successful launch of Operation Saturn which test flights more upcoming rockets for this program.
Launch The Saturn was launched on Sunday, November 8, 2008 just thirty miles south of Downtown Las Vegas at an estimated time of 9:30 pacific time. Constructed by Estes Industries, it was launched of a towering 900 feet in the air. The burning of the fuse caused an ignition of the parachute leaving it crumbling to dust. Luckily no astronauts were on this test flight. The Rocket landed in a safe tree near the launch site with barely a scratch on it. The parachute chords were found but no actual parachute was found near the crash site. The Rocket is prepared to be relaunched on November 15, 2008 in a relocated launch site near the Mojave Desert. The Saturn I is currently being refurbished and being prepared for a second launch.
