Christopher Lee (born October 15, 1992) better known by his stage name Eearz, is an American rapper. Eearz was born in San Diego, California while his parents, Statesboro, GA natives were there stationed in the military. His stage name was actually his nickname growing up "Ears" because of how big his auricles were. On October 9, 2015 he released his debut mixtape Eearz To The Streets Vol.1 The project's lead cut, a party starter called "Work Your Muscle." There is an obvious break from the norm in the content of his project but Eearz also goes against the format of your average mixtape, in that there are no guest appearances. "I get lost in myself," he explained of his recording process. "I'm a fan in a lot of artists, but I wanted this one to be about who I am. I feel like once people get an idea of who I am, they'll approach me about me about how we can work together. I'm Just focused on making timeless music. We can start really talking to the folks. We can talk to them on these cool as beats. The artists were saying some ill stuff back in the day. It was more unified." After giving up everything for the pursuit of his music career Eearz was homeless living on the streets of Atlanta, Ga. "I used to sleep anywhere I could; park benches, behind this ice cream spot called busters , and behind I-Hop." Eearz, now comfortably nestled in his new home of the Ear Drummerz studio, thinks back calmly of his harrowing past. "I used to just keep my cool, like this is only temporary." I knew I still had the music. I knew I could still record. I still got my health, I'm still alive. It was a test. God was like alright, you're washing your hands clean right now. I just stopped doing everything. I was lost bro. Then he blessed me man. Early in his music career Eearz was able to make quite a stir around the metro Atlanta area after being one of the founding members of a large movement named Black America. Along with his movement Eearz began taking over local nightclubs and demanding his music be heard. His powerful lyrics and live performances proved captivating and started to get the attention of many key players in the music industry. A-Pluss of Ear Drummer Records was one of the first to notice his impact and requested to start working with him immediately. After confirming that Eearz's talent was key, he decided to bring Eearz to super producer Mike Will Made it. "I've worked with so many people, but Eearz just had such an original approach to his lyrics and his sound, his voice sounds like no other," Mike Will Made It explains. "He was just somebody I felt I could build up my company with. He's definitely going to be one of the big superstars of the next decade and on." Mike Will signed Eearz to Ear Drummer Records in January 2015 An apple commercial starring The Weeknd sampled his single Work Ya Muscle, The commercial aired during the MTV Vma's 9.8 million viewers The Creed movie chooses "Work Ya Muscle" to be sampled in the movie and added to the soundtrack.
