E.L. Beshimentob Mayfield

E.L. Beshimentob Mayfield is a retired US Marine and a 7th degree blackbelt in judo.
Personal life
Mayfield currently resides in North Carolina. He also is instrumental in the donation of canned goods which benefit many people. He teaches judo at Jacksonville, North Carolina at Tarheel Judo. He is married to Maisha Mayfield. While in the Marines he received a purple heart.
Martial Arts Training
He started judo in 1959, In 1966 and 1967 he was deployed to Vietnam. He quickly earned two purple hearts. He earned a third one in 1970 before he was discharged. In 2005, he served on the team staff for the US Olympic Judo Team. He additionally served as the US National Team Manager. He is the US Armed Forces Judo Coach, USA Judo Coach, USA Judo Referee Liaison, 1996 Atlanta Olympic Sports Information Coordinator He additionally served as the Coach Conseil international du sport Games & All Marine Judo Championships. by 2012, This tournament was in its 7th year of existence. In 2011 he organized the 1st Annual Emerald Coast Military Judo Championships In 2015, he organized the Sergeants Major Mayfield's 1st Annual Gunnery Sergeant Ernest C. "Judo" Jones Open Judo Championships & Military, Police, Fireman & Firewomen Open Judo Team Championships, Blind & Low-Vision Championships
Community Service Activities
Mayfield participates in a number of community service activities including the clean up of military cemeteries. He is the founder of MOJJJO, the United States Military Outreach Judo & Jiu Jitsu Organization. The stated purpose of this organization is to put a judo club in every US base around the world and send more US Soldiers to the Olympics. He uses judo as a way to help soldiers combat PTSD. He believes that "whatever ravages one sees in his mind - they disappear when he fights. I know i've been there before, i've seen it happen.
