E. B. Green, made for the Electric Boat submarine division of General Dynamics by Nashua Tape Company, is a 2" wide, duct-tape-like tape originally used for temporarily sealing pipes in and near the shipyards of E.B. The tape has been used to patch hydraulic lines with pressures up to 2000 psi. The workers saw how good it was and realized its potential uses and began bringing it home illegally, which led to its widespread use and fame as an all purpose, do-it-all tape better than conventional duct tape.
