Dwayne Buckle

Dwayne Buckle is an African American independent film maker, screenwriter, editor and sound recording artist from Queens, New York.
His first feature length film as writer, director, and producer, The Minority, won an Executive Director's Choice Award - Honorable Mention at the 15th Annual Pan African Film Festival in February, 2007. The Minority was an Official Selection of The Buffalo International Film Festival in 2009.
Buckle's short film, which he also wrote and directed, The Glasses, won a Platinum Award at the 41st Annual Houston International Film Festival (Worldfest)in August 2008.
Assault
Buckle received national media attention after being injured in an altercation with a group of seven lesbians. The women claimed that they were acting in self defense. Four were sentenced to prison for assault, although two had their convictions overturned on appeal. The case attracted strong comment on both sides.
