Dustin Proehl

Dustin Proehl is an American politician of the Democratic party. He currently holds the office of Councilman-At-Large of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Proehl earned a bachelor's in Education and Master's in Technology in Education from Ohio University. He is currently the Technology Coordinator for Zane Trace Local Schools, in Ross County.

A life long resident of Chillicothe, Proehl was appointed to the Chillicothe city council on October 6th, 2007 and was sworn in to office on October 8th, 2007. Proehl relpaces long time council person Bart Henshaw, who vacated the seat when she moved outside the city.

On council Proehl chairs the Safety Services Committee and also sits on the Engineering and Human Resources Committees. He also is assigned to the Court Security Committee and is the Police/Fire Department Liaison with the Administration.

Proehl has served on the Chillicothe Design Review Board and was selected by that board to serve as vice chairman in 2007. He also served on the Ross County Palnning Department Oversight Committee, where he was also the Vice Chairperson.

In 2005, Proehl ran for Chillicothe Council-At-Large. It was Proehl's first attempt to gain public office. Proehl lost his bid for office, coming in behind Bart Henshaw, Diane Carns, & Cindy Henderson. Proehl garnered more votes then incumbent Joe Herlihy and first time candidate Chuck Halm.

Proehl helped found the Ross County Young Democrats in 1991. He served as the President of that organization for 3 years.
