Dustin Douglas Weber

Dustin Douglas Weber was the only person on US soil to be killed by the March 11 tsunami that originated in Japan. Mr Weber was taking pictures of the surge with friends when he was swept out to sea by the tsunami.
Mr Weber was lost near the mouth of the Klamath River near Del Norte, California. He was with out a doubt overcome by the 1 meter high tsunami and was washed out to sea around 11 a.m. March 11, 2011.
His body was found washed up on an Oregon beach on April 2. Due to the significant decomposition of his body, he was identified by dental records, and officially listed as a death by drowning.
He is the first tsunami victim in the United States since 1964, when 11 people were killed near Crescent City, California following an earthquake in Alaska, which just happens to be the same place Mr Weber was killed.
According to his MySpace page, Mr Weber had large tattoos across his back, shoulders and chest. His death made news stories around the world, despite the tragedy in Japan. The discovery of his body made the news world wide as well.
