Dusted Magazine

Dusted Magazine is an online music magazine which was founded by Otis Hart and Sam Hunt in January 2002. The magazine's commercial-free website averages about 5,000 unique visitors per day, and 2 million hits per month.
Dusted collects playlists from about four dozen college radio stations which extensively feature avant garde and experimental music as well as indie music, and has has been featured in—or cited by—several notable publications. These include the Chicago Reader, the New York Times, the East Bay Express, the Los Angeles Times.
Bands which have been interviewed by the publication include Monolake, Low, and The Posies.
Background
Hart was a college music director and Hunt handled promotions for a college radio station when they discovered that aside from The Wire, there was almost no media outlet for avant garde or experimental music. Most of the publications geared towards the college radio community focused primarily on traditional indie rock and pop favorites, while neglecting adventurous music. Dusted was created to help fill that void.
