HART Legal is a law firm located in Victoria, British Columbia. The law firm has additional locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Toronto, Anaheim and Beverly Hills. The company was the first law firm in Canada to franchise across Canada and into the USA. The company was founded in 1992 by Darren Hart. In 2017, Alistair Vigier was awarded the 30 under 30 award for his work expanding HART Legal. Under the entity Hart Management, Vigier has helped grow the firms revenue from $2.5 million in 2015 to an expected $3.5 million in 2016. HART Legal developed a joint venture model to ‘franchise’ law firms. The company changed from a franchise to a joint venture model after resistance from the Law Society of British Columbia. In Canada and the USA there are restrictions around non-lawyer ownership in law firms. HART Legal consists of multiple legal entities, HART Legal, Darren Hart Law Corp, and Hart Management Inc. |
