Dupont Circle High Heel Race

| The Dupont Circle High Heel Race is an annual event that takes place in Washington, D.C. on the Tuesday before Halloween. Usually between about 7 and 9 p.m., more than 100 drag queens, dressed in outrageous splendor, parade up and down 17th Street NW. At 9 p.m., the High Heel Race to the finish begins and lasts about 15 minutes. It has been held previously 22 years and is sponsored by both Delta Lambda Phi Fraternity - Washington DC Alpha Chapter and JR's Bar and Grill. |
