Duncan Stuart Black

Duncan Black has toured all over the world playing drums for such bands as Omaha's "Mousetrap", Chicago-based "ICBM", and well-known Los Angeles bands "Wild Gift" and "3Faced."
Duncan spent the last 8 years in the music industry in Los Angeles, CA, where he recorded with Grammy award winning producers including Ben Moody (Evanescence, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne) and Nick Raskulinecz (Foo fighters, Velvet Revolver, Coheed and Cambria) among others.
An LA staple with fellow band members from "Union Underground", "Disturbed" and Tommy Lee's "Method of Mayhem", 3Faced was repeatedly voted "Best Alternative Band"
by All Access Magazine,
and was awarded "Best Alternative Band" and "Best Rock Song" for their single "I AM" by the Southern California Music Awards (SCMA) in 2006. The band was heavily promoted in over 14 us & international markets with an online community fan base of over 50,000. Their first independent release "Married to the Wreckage"
sold over 25,000 units. 3Faced regularly performed to sell-out shows including opening for other touring acts including Bon Jovi as well as Hinder . 3Faced played several music festivals in the U.S. and Europe, and headlined the SoundLabs independent music festival in Italy.
Prior to 3Faced, Duncan played in Wild Gift, a popular LA band founded by Vapor Records' (Neil Young) Joel Graves (Everest) that played regular shows across the southwest.
Several of Wild Gifts' recordings were featured in motions pictures including "Billabong Odyssey" and TV shows like "Roswell."
Before joining Wild Gift, Duncan helped create "Posthuman Records" label and toured the world (US, East/West Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Asia) with Marilyn Manson for 2 years during the "Guns, God and Government World Tour". Duncan also worked closely with other major acts such as Jane's Addiction, Ted Nugent, Disturbed and more.
In Dallas, Duncan has played for many local favorites including "Dooms UK", "Floor 13", "Slowpoke", and "Glasspack" (among many many others...). For fan-favorite Glasspack, Duncan tried his hand at acting, lampooning a 70's Southern Metal drummer who downs Jack Daniels like water, wears tight half-shirts and plays with 4 drumsticks simultaneously, for a full-length feature film production of "Texas Jam 78"
currently in post production, set to release Fall 2009.
Today, Duncan's in the studio with "Decender" featuring Casey Hess (Doosu, Burden Brothers), Zack Busby (Slow Roosevelt, Burden Brothers) and Jeff Gruber working on their first release.
In addition to playing drums, Duncan Black owns and operates Bishop Manor Rehearsal, a 35-unit rehearsal complex in Deep Ellum/Fair Park Dallas.
