The Duffek family is a large Bohemian family with branches in Austria and the United States. The Duffeks produced multiple Knights and landowners in its earlier years. From 1500-1918 most Duffek members were nobility and lived in the area around the Czech Republic city of Tabor. The family was traditionally divided betwen its Catholic members and Protestant members, because of this some members of the family left Bohemia in the 1870's and 1880's to the US. The remaining Catholic members became the bulk of the Duffek family and spread to Austria in the late 19th century. Today the United States Branches of the family are located primarily in South Dakota and Wisconsin and ironically most US members converted back to Catholocism soon after they reached America. Related families include the House of Kolowrat, the House of Vlašim,the Pukyne family, the Kortan family, the Dufek family, and the Hale family. Confirmation seen below in the Radu and Erb document.
